WINGED KISS

WINGED KISS

S.JENSEN (C)2018

IN THE DARKNESS

BELOW TWINKLED

LIGHT LIKE FIREFLIES

SPREAD ACROSS THE

LAND DOWN THERE

WHITE LIGHT ALL

AROUND

HANDS REACHED OUT

HUGGING IN COMFORT

SAYING WE WILL

MEET AGAIN

YET YOU CAN'T STAY

NOW FOR HE SAID SO

YOU ARE ALWAYS MINE

AND I AM ALWAYS YOURS

NOW GO....

SHE CAME UP BEHIND

ME AS HE DISAPPEARED

I TURNED ONE LAST LOOK

AS FEATHERS FALLING WHITE

DOWN THROUGH THE FLOOR

AGONY IN MY GUT

AS I WATCHED

THEM BE STRIPPED

AND REPLACED ALMOST

INSTANTLY WITH NEW

ONES ON ONE SIDE

FULL AS RAVENS BLACK

THEN WALKING TO ME

SURROUNDING ME

BLACK WING ON THE

RIGHT

AND WHITE WING ON

THE LEFT

SHE SAYS COME WITH ME

WRAPPING ME LIKE

A COCOON

INTO HER ARMS

MY HAIR UNRAVELED

FROM ITS BUN

AND FLOWING FREE

AS SHE TURNS HER

HEAD INTO ME

HER FACE INCHES FROM

MINE THEN HEAD

DOWN OVER

AS WE FALL

RIGHT THROUGH

THE FLOOR

INTO THE SKY

BARRELING DOWN

SHE SAYS ITS COLD

HOLD TIGHT

I WILL WARM YOU

AS I CAN NOW

SHE SAYS IT ONLY

TAKES A MINUTE

OR TWO

SHAKING AS I AM

FREEZING

THEN LIKE BLANKETS

OF WARMTH

WASH OVER ME

AS SHE LEANS IN

SAYS I DO THIS

TO SAVE YOU

AND BEGINS TO KISS

MY LIPS

AS WE FALL

I REMEMBER LESS AND

LESS

OF ALL BUT WHATS

AROUND ME

THE COLD IS

NUMBINGLY GONE

FOR ALL I CAN

THINK ON IS THIS

DIVINE TONGUE

IN MY MOUTH

SHE SAYS I AM

FOREVER BOUND

AND WILL ALWAYS

HAVE HER TO

GUIDE ME

IF NEEDED

AS I CAN GUIDE

OTHERS SHE KISSES

AGAIN

I MELT IN HER ARMS

AS HER KISS

TANGOS WITH MINE

AND AS I DRIFT

FAST INTO A

SLUMBER

SHE SAYS I LOVE YOU

FOR ALL ETERNITY

TO AWAKE

IN THE MORNING

IN A HOSPITAL BED

TO THE SOUND OF

THE DOOR OPENING

AND FOOD BEING

BROUGHT IN

I SHAKE MY HEAD

AND LEAVE SLEEP

AS I AWAKE

GOING IN MY HEAD

WHAT A VERY

STRANGE DREAM

THAT WAS EIGHT

YEARS AGO YET I CAN

STILL RECALL ONLY

THE SMELL OF SWEET

ROSES AND JASMINE

THE FEEL OF FEATHERS

ALL AROUND

THE WING AND COLD AIR

AS THE LIGHTS GOT

CLOSER AND

THAT KISS

THE DIVINE BLISS

WHERE IT ERASED

EVERYTHING

BUT THESE THINGS

I SAY NOW

WHAT A DREAM...

JUST A DREAM

JUST A WINGED KISS

IN THE NIGHT

AS I RECOVERED

FROM THAT ILLNESS.
